The Envelope

“ Treewieler ! Treewieler ! Are you alright ?” Admiral Dellacon shouted anxiously . “ Can you hear me ? Can you hear me !”
Todd was stunned . “ Another soldier down ,” he thought . . . .
It was a bright day on October 27th , 1971 . Scott Treewieler was at Woodstock , listening to The Who . He was joined by thousands of other hippies protesting America fighting in Vietnam . He held a sign saying , “ Get out of Nam !” Yes , you guessed it , Scott Treewieler was a hippie . “ No more fighting !” someone in the crowd shouted . “ Get out of Vietnam !” others added . The crowd was more than annoyed that the US wasn ’ t listening to them . The people were getting enraged , and Treewieler was one of them . He wasn ’ t very vocal , but he did bring signs . He was also there to support peace and listen to music .
A couple of days later , Scott kind of wanted to go home , so that ’ s what he did . After a couple of hours of walking , he found himself home and noticed a long white envelope on the doorstep . The very next moment , he barged into his dad ’ s room . “ Dad , I can ’ t go to Vietnam !” Scott exclaimed , “ It goes against everything
I stand for !” “ I know , but this is the US Army , and they have recruited you to go fight .” “ I just can ’ t .”
