I leisurely walk out the back door A towel draped around my neck The warm sun hits my skin Like a fire that ’ s burned slowly Since the beginning of time
I stroll toward the gate Open the weathered latch And rush inside Greeted by the crisp blue water A simultaneous invitation and initiation
Summer is a thing that washes over you And brings you back to life
