Where Might Life Exist in Our Universe , and How Are We Searching for It ?

Introduction : ( Start on Earth , slowly zooming out to show our solar system . Add TRAPPIST-1 to OpenSpace , and set time to February 8 , 2021 .)
Does life exist elsewhere ? Could there be a world just like Earth , with vast oceans teeming with life and densely populated cities full of technological advancements ? Does this planet exist within our own galaxy , or could it be somewhere that we haven ’ t even discovered yet ? Or are we on the only planet with life in a cold , lonely universe ? Now before I go any further , let me introduce myself . My name is Dr . Tyler C . and this is my partner , Dr . Alexander Bettwy . My colleague and I met at Yale , where we both got PhDs in astrophysics and astronomy . We then went to work at NASA for 7 years , where we helped out with numerous projects including the Mars Perseverance Rover and the Europa Clipper . We would have continued , but we decided to leave after they rejected our request to live on the I . S . S . We decided to start our own space company , the T . A . Space Agency , where we specialize in searching for life outside of our own planet . Thanks to our generous investors , we no longer need to ask for NASA ’ s permission to explore the cosmos . Today , we will attempt to answer a question that has intrigued us since we were young : where might life exist in our universe , and how are we searching for it ?
