assuming one actually came ,” I thought I resolved to find some sort of exit or shuttle bay , because I was no use stuck here .
I retrieved the rest of my gear , happily finding that nothing was visibly damaged or missing . I started the heating process on my weapons , put my armor on , and checked communications again .
Feeling much better , I started to walk , and I saw two doors at the end of a dimly lit corridor . No signs or anything implied that an exit was near , so I tried the door to my right . Inside lay six , tall , dark glass cages lined up along the far wall .
Most , I suspected , were empty , but then I came across a curious cage labeled EXPERIMENT 9 . The glass had shattered , leaving debris all over the floor . Either the cage had undergone structural damage , or something had broken out .
A snarling noise came from above . I instinctively changed my helmet to combat mode , took my weapon out , and looked around for the source of the snarling . High above , on a railing , a twisted figure clad in mysterious white armor stood , and then leaped down onto the floor . I warily approached , hoping that it wouldn ’ t attack . Once again , I hoped in vain as it quite literally leaped at me . I attempted to run , but the creature ’ s grasp was too strong to fight against . Turning around , I set my energy gun to maximum settings and blasted blindly into the direction of that vile creature .
As the smoke cleared , EXPERIMENT 9 was still standing , seemingly unharmed . Either he had dodged my blast with extreme speed , or he was impervious to the effects of my weapon .
I noticed that it was wearing armor , familiar armor . Armor that I remembered . In fact , it was the same model of armor that I had , minus a few
