Handicapping the Field
As we stand at the mid-point of the OBA Nation’s season, I thought it might be interesting to handicap the field as it pertains to the likeliness of winning the Super Bowl. Specifically, who has the better shot at the crown; the experienced championship guard or the hungry warriors looking to break through. It’s almost something out of National Geographic though; the battle tested king fending off the young upstart that looks to ascend to his crown. What we have in the OBAFL as of week 9 are seven coaches who have either won a Super Bowl in the OBAFL or have at least made one Super Bowl appearance. Those coaches have a combined record of 39 wins and 14 losses. Those coaches in no particular order are: MetalSkull, Urblessed, LionsFan, PayDey, Hitman, PigskinRodeo, and JayNubz. Then you have coaches that have either knocked on that Super Bowl door like BillsMafia, or new coaches who are making a huge name for themselves in the OBAFL like Nizoki.
But, let’s not just stop with the experience factor. You have the ideology of these coaches to factor in as well. We have Coach Pay YR Bills who combines a bruising three-headed rushing attack with a defense that is 2nd in total defense to produce a undefeated record. You have Nizoki who has a offense that is 3rd in total offense and 6th in total defense. He has balance not only on both sides of the ball, but with his offense as well. You have the Coach Bills Mafia who has rushing yardage numbers that in terms of efficiency match Urblessed and his passing game numbers per game. So which is better?
