DAY 10 • Bonifacio, Corsica • Home-Hosted Lunch Explore Bonifacio, the southernmost town in Corsica. Nicknamed the“ Citadel of Cliffs,” Bonifacio is dramatically perched atop limestone cliffs at the end of a narrow peninsula, giving it the appearance of a fortress city floating high above the sea.
From the marina, we’ ll take the“ petit train” to upper town to begin our guided tour of the medieval walled city. Later, enjoy a Home- Hosted Lunch with some local families who live in Bonifacio. Meals: B, L, D | M / V Clio or M / V Corinthian
DAY 11 • Livorno, Italy • Lucca While our ship remains docked in Livorno, we’ ll visit the walled city of Lucca. Remarkably well preserved, Lucca’ s narrow streets look much like they did when the ancient Romans established the town in
about 180 BC. As we explore, we’ ll find quiet, tree-lined squares and ancient churches with ornate facades of green, gray, and white marble. Our stroll also takes us by the Duomo di San Martino, or St. Martin’ s Cathedral, which was originally built in 1063. Meals: B, L, D | M / V Clio or M / V Corinthian
DAY 12 • Return to U. S. or begin your posttrip extension Disembark the ship this morning and transfer to the airport in Florence for your return flight to the U. S., or to begin your post-trip extension in Orvieto: Umbria’ s Undiscovered Hill Town.
