DAY 3 • Marseille • Provençal cooking class Begin the day with a discovery walk of the port of Marseille, France’ s oldest city. Then, meet a local chef for a hands-on Provençal cooking class. DAY 4 • Marseille • Aix-en-Provence Visit Aix-en-Provence, birthplace of Post- Impressionist artist Paul Cézanne, today. A local guide will join us for a walking tour through Old Town, whose pedestrian streets bustle with farmers’ markets and local boulangeries. DAY 5 • Nice Enjoy a walking tour along the cobblestoned streets of Nice’ s Old Town with your Trip Experience Leader, including a visit to its famous produce and fresh flower market, Marché Aux Fleurs Cours Saleya. DAY 6 • Nice • Optional Monaco & Monte Carlo tour Enjoy a free day in Nice. Or, you can join a full-day optional tour to Monaco and Monte Carlo, featuring visits to renowned landmarks such as the Grimaldi Palace, viewed from the outside, and the Casino de Monte-Carlo. DAY 7 • Imperia, Italy • A Day in the Life of a local farm With our ship docked in Imperia, Italy, set off for our A Day in the Life experience to a family farm where you’ ll have the chance to experience the typical day-to-day life of local farmers. During your visit to the farm, you’ ll tour the property and may even get to assist with some daily chores. Then, you’ ll enjoy a farm-fresh lunch with the family. DAY 8 • L’ Île-Rousse, Corsica • Controversial Topic: Corsican Independence vs. autonomy Enjoy a guided walking tour of L’ Île Rousse, a resort town located in the northwest corner of the island of Corsica, including a stroll along Marinella Promenade, a coastal path along the town that offers stunning views of Île de la Pietra. Other highlights will include the treeshaded main square, Place Paoli, right next to the Church of the Immaculate Conception; the covered market, whose produce stalls resemble a Greek temple. Later, a local expert will join us for a discussion about the Controversial Topic discussion about the ongoing debate between greater autonomy or full independence for Corsica.

DAY 9 • Ajaccio • Napoleon’ s birthplace Discover the Corsican capital of Ajaccio, birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, on a walking tour beginning in Ajaccio’ s main square, watched over by a statue of Napoleon dressed as a Roman consul.
