DAY 9 • Sibenik • A Day in the Life of a Croatian village Today, we’ ll experience A Day in the Life of a Croatian village. To provide a more intimate experience, we’ ll split into two groups, with one group visiting the village of Sopot and the second group to a familyowned agricultural estate in the Ravni Kotari countryside.

DAY 10 • Korcula Today, we’ ll explore Korcula, a tiny island on the Dalmatian Coast whose main settlement is considered one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Adriatic. We’ ll see the remaining stone wall of the home that many historians believe was the birthplace of Marco Polo. Another highlight is St. Mark’ s Cathedral— the magnificent 15th-century cathedral. DAY 11 • Brač • Puci $ ca Stonemasonry School • % krip Olive oil museum Today, we’ ll explore Bra $, the largest of the islands in central Dalmatia. We’ ll learn about Bra $’ s historic ties to its signature white limestone during a visit to the Stonemasonry School of Puci % ca. This afternoon, we’ ll drive to & krip, the island’ s oldest settlement, to visit a family-owned olive oil farm and learn about modern olive oil production in Bra $. DAY 12 • Split • Diocletian’ s Palace • Optional Croatian wine-tasting tour This morning in Split, enjoy a walking tour of the Imperial Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. One of the largest Roman remains in existence— and a UNESCO World Heritage Site— the palace was built in 305 AD to serve as Diocletian’ s“ retirement home,” and he would reside here until 313 AD. The medieval town of Split eventually took shape within the palace walls, and some 3,000 people continue to reside within the vast walls of Diocletian’ s Palace. DAY 13 • Disembark ship • Oyster experience • Overland to Dubrovnik We’ ll disembark our ship to begin our overland journey to Dubrovnik. Along the way, we’ ll visit the town of Ston for an oyster experience. We’ ll learn about oyster cultivation during a boat ride across Mali Ston Bay. We’ ll also visit a nearby winery, where we’ ll taste a selection of vintages and liqueurs produced on site. Our final discovery in Ston is a visit to the Ston salt pans, Europe’ s oldest naturally occurring flats.

DAY 14 • Dubrovnik • Konavle Museum Set off on a walking tour of Dubrovnik, one of the world’ s most exquisite walled cities. We’ ll stroll along the Stradun, where we can admire the ornate Onofrio’ s Fountain. We’ ll also visit the Rector’ s Palace, a Franciscan Monastery housing one of Europe’ s oldest pharmacies. This afternoon, we’ ll drive to Cilipi to visit the Konavle County Museum. Meals: B, D | Hotel Kompas Dubrovnik or similar
DAY 15 • Dubrovnik Enjoy your final day in Dubrovnik to pursue individual interests. Travelers will receive a Dubrovnik Pass, which provides access to the city’ s most captivating landmarks, museums, and cultural treasures— including the City Walls, Lovrjenac Fortress, Rector’ s Palace, and many more. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 16 • Return to the U. S. Head to the airport for your return flight to the U. S., or to begin your Balkan Discovery post-trip extension.
