DAY 5 • Fishguard , Wales • Home-Hosted Lunch • St . Davids
Cruise into Fishguard and visit a local church for a performance by the parishioners . You ’ ll also witness the Town Hall ’ s 100-foot tapestry , which depicts an 18th-century incursion that lasted only two days . Then join a local family for a Home-Hosted Lunch . Savor a traditional meal and discuss daily life in Fishguard with your hosts . Finally , depart for St . Davids , where you ’ ll visit the medieval cathedral named after the country ’ s patron saint . Saint David , a Welsh bishop , established a monastery in the sixth century on the site of today ’ s cathedral , though the structure that stands today didn ’ t begin construction until the 12th century .

Explore Belfast by taxi . Get a personal look at the city as our drivers share their view on the city ’ s political and religious divides . Later , visit the Titanic Museum followed by an exploration of the city on foot . Then , engage in a Controversial Topic about The Troubles
with three local men who experienced it firsthand — while fighting on opposing sides of the conflict .
We ’ ll meet two ex-political prisoners — a Republican who fought for Irish independence , and a loyalist who fought with the UVF — as well as an ex-British army serviceman . During the violence of The Troubles it would have been inconceivable to gather men such as these in the same room ; today , they have put aside their differences and will share their stories about the dark deeds they took part in during the fighting ; their experiences while incarcerated ; and their shared hopes for a better future .
