DAY 7 • Grand Circle Foundation visit : Tanchok Primary School • A Day in the Life of Majgaon Village This morning , we meet with children at Tanchok Primary School , supported in part by Grand Circle Foundation , then take a walk through Majgaon Village to spend A Day in the Life of the villagers , including a lunch of home-cooked cuisine that we ’ ll help prepare . In the late afternoon we ’ ll enjoy free time .

DAY 8 • Annapurna overland trek • Visit Patalekhet village • Conversation about Nepal ’ s migrant laborers

VERY ACTIVE DAY ( 3-mile uphill hike and a 140-step uphill walk )

This morning , we ’ ll trek to a small village where we ’ ll be greeted as guests by the villagers . We ’ ll also learn about Nepal ’ s migrant laborers — including how their families cope with their absence — during a conversation with the wife of one of the individuals .

DAY 9 • Pokhara • Home-Hosted Dinner • Conversation about marriage in Nepal After breakfast , we walk about two hours to the main road and transfer back to Pokhara . The afternoon is free for perusing the lakeside shops or relaxing in the lodge gardens , admiring the views of the surrounding Annapurna range . This evening , join a local family for a Home-Hosted Dinner and enlightening conversation , including about child marriage in Nepal .

DAY 10 • Pokhara • Phewa Lake canoe excursion After enjoying a relaxing start to the morning , our group will canoe on Phewa Lake , set at 2,917 feet and framed by the Sarangkot and Kaskikot hills .

After , we ’ ll drive to a Tibetan refugee camp where we ’ ll meet members of a Tibetan family who will share their personal story with us .

DAY 11 • River float begins Our day begins with an excursion on the Seti River , located at an elevation of 2,500 feet . We ride a few sections of rapids and maneuver over small drops between boulders . Delight in an abundance of birdlife and foliage along the river — and stop for lunch at a sandy bank along the way to our camp . Tonight we will gather around a campfire .

DAY 12 • Explore local village We ’ ll hike through the forest this morning to a nearby village at an elevation of 2,000 feet , where we ’ ll visit with the local Nepalese . After lunch , the rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the tranquil scenery .

DAY 13 • Seti river rafting • Explore Chitwan National Park on foot With the help of an experienced Nepalese crew , we ’ ll raft through Class II and Class III rapids . After , we journey to Chitwan National Park , the oldest national park in Nepal , which we ’ ll explore on foot this afternoon . This evening , we ’ ll gather for a presentation on Chitwan or a traditional dance performance , depending on your departure date .

DAY 14 • Jeep safari in Chitwan National Park

• Rapti River canoe excursion We begin our explorations by boarding open Jeeps for a safari , looking out for one-horned rhinos and spotted deer . Later , we venture to the buffer zone

Each year , dozens of people who live near Chitwan National Park are attacked by wildlife , as dwindling resources have forced humans and animals to compete for resources . Then , we ’ ll drive to the airport for our flight to Kathmandu via Bharatpur . This afternoon we visit Pashupatinath , a Hindu temple . This evening , we ’ ll toast our experiences during Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant .

DAY 16 • Dubai , United Arab Emirates Fly from Kathmandu to Dubai , United Arab Emirates , where you ’ ll board your return flight to the U . S . after midnight .
