The

OF MUSIC

In joint partnership between St Andrew ’ s Catholic College and The Gift of Music , a very special event is being presented on 1 9 October , at the all new All Saints Theatre at St Andrews College . Music teacher and 201 8 Cairns Regional Council ' s Woman of the Year , Maureen Cameron has formed part of a team that has orchestrated , planned and brought together a series of events , art works , music , recitations of the ode , 126 Ceramics , speakers , choirs , bands and local community organisations including the RSL , Cairns Historical Society and Cairns Family History Society .
Since the start of the year , they have been playing a daily musical dedication and reciting the ‘ ODE ’, one for each of the 1 26 service men and woman etched on the Cairns Cenotaph . After this daily ritual , a plaque in honour of the service person is " planted " with the name of the reciter and musician of that day .
126 members of the Cairns community have been invited to design and sculpt 126 pieces of ceramic . These will be unveiled at the Centenary of Armistice finale concert , aptly named The 126 Project .
The finale concert will be a showcase of local talent from the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Cairns and also
some of the finest music from Cairns Choral Society and Cairns Pipes and Drums . There will be guest speakers , special musical compositions , poignant photos , videos along with music and verse .
Rehearsing with all of the individuals involved for many months , coming together in a series of joint rehearsals to put the whole show together – lights , sound , music , art work , official opening of ceramics etc .

ALL SAINT ’ S THEATRE

St Andrew ’ s Catholic College
A huge production team including all the conductors and leaders of the groups involved have been lovingly and carefully crafting their performances .
The concert , held in the newly completed ALL SAINTS ’ THEATRE , at St Andrew ’ s Catholic College utilises every space . There will be exhibitions prior to and during the interval . Canapes and drinks will also be sold and special programmes will be on sale .
After the success of ‘ Remembrance of ANZAC ’ in 2015 , we decided last year to follow up on that by organising CENTENARY OF ARMISTICE . Our musical community and artists have welcomed the project with open hearts and minds and together , we are creating the most poignant and beautiful concert for our community .
