Forces

In year 5, we made parachutes. We were instructed to pick items that we could change in terms of materials, size and shape. My group decided to change the size of the parachute. One of the parachutes was 10cm long, the second was 20cm and the third was 30cm long.

Then we tied a string to each corner and then tied the string to a figure of a mini soldier. Next we tested the parachute. One person from our group stood on a table and threw the parachute from a height of 2m 30cm. Then we timed the fall using a stop watch. The aim was to see which parachute fell the slowest.

World Book Day

On World Book day, instead of dressing up at home, we bought materials to school and made costumes in class. Everyone enjoyed making their costumes as well as wearing them. The year 2 children made a little play for us. After that, we went to all the different classes to show our costumes.
