In January, Years 1 and 2 visited the Hockwell Ring Masjid. They met the Imam and were given a tour of the Masjid. The children practiced giving the Adhan (call to prayer) and making wudu (ablution) and reciting verses from the Qur'aan on the pulpit (mimbar).

During the Q&A session with the Imaam, they learnt about the main pillars of Islam and the importance of the masjid and its role in the local community.

In February, Years 1 and 2 spent a day out at the Mead Open Farm where they enjoyed the experience of feeding and learning about the farm animals there. They got a chance to feed and stroke the sheep, rabbits and lambs as well as the goats and lamas.

Towards the end of the day, they all got the opportunity to release any unspent energy and have fun by trying a range of different indoor and outdoor play activities.
