The Auditorium Theatre, 50 East Ida B. Wells Drive: The Joffrey
Ballet’s critically-acclaimed reimagined classic, The Nutcracker,
by Tony Award®-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon,
returns to open the holiday season at the Auditorium Theatre
of Roosevelt University, in downtown Chicago at 50 East Ida B.
Wells Drive, November 30-December 29.

The Kiwanis Club of Crystal Lake was challenged in 2011 be
several agencies in McHenry County to help raise money for
them. These agencies include Turning Point, Big Brothers Big
Sisters, CASA, Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois and Main
Stay Therapeutic Farm. In 2019 the event was renamed The
McHenry County Santa Run For Kids. The McHenry County Santa
Run For Kids 5K offers its participants a full Santa suit including
a hat, beard, top, bottom and belt. A Santa long sleeve shirt
with hat and beard is optional. This family fun event is already
a tradition for many that have participated. every year. The sea
of Santa’s sauntering through the streets is spectacular to see.
Over 1,000 participants, spectators and volunteers make this an
event you will never forget.

Moms and Tots may join in a morning of fun! Get to know other
Moms while the kids enjoy fun activities. This event takes place
the first Sunday of every month from 9:20 a.m.-10:20 a.m. and
then again the third Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 11
a.m., located in their gym.
St Charles Park District, 8 North Ave.: Add to the excitement
of Christmas for your little one with a personalized letter from
the jolly guy himself! Once your child’s letter along with Santa’s
Check List Form are received, Santa’s helpers at the St. Charles
Park District will take care of the rest! Registration required for
each child.

plores local railroad history through an eclectic array of inter-
esting artifacts including photos, maps and models of stations,
locomotives and railroad cars. Kids can try hands-on learning
stations including a wooden train play area, working telegraph,
and a track switching game.

holidays with the introduction of Lightscape, an enchanting,
after-dark, illuminated trail. Along a mile-long path, the night

ful choir of singing trees to a spectacular waterfall of light.

Allsburg’s book comes to life when the train pulls out of the
station with your family on board! Santa will board the train,
