your family outside for a naturalist-led hike at Rock Run Pre-
serve. Walk along the trail and pause at various stopping points
for different activities. These could include learning about a
natural feature or doing a silly activity with your family. Meet
the naturalist at the Black Road Access Shelter. Free.

Cook Road: Chicago Botanic Garden has new magic for the
holidays with the introduction of Lightscape, an enchanting,
after-dark, illuminated trail. Along a mile-long path, the night
will come alive with color, imagination and sound, from a play-
ful choir of singing trees to a spectacular waterfall of light.
