As vitamin A deficiency is a significant cause to night blindness, avoiding the deficiency is a way of preventing night blindness. Focus on the foods which contain a large amount of vitamin A such as: cantaloupes, sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, butternut squash, mangoes, spinach, collard greens, milk and eggs.

Antioxidant vitamins & minerals
Foods that are rich in antioxidant vitamins and minerals can help prevent cataracts (one of the main causes of night blindness) these foods include: plums, raisins, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, rasberries and oranges. Furthermore, it is important to be aware that if you are over 60, you have an increased chance of getting cataracts which later on might evolve into night blindness.
