off-site to complete their assessment
and generate a report complete with
specific recommendations to increase
energy efficiency.
Generating this report required the
students to employ the skills they
had learned throughout their
two-year program, while utilizing
modeling tools, calculations, and
site blueprints among other tools
to complete the assessment.
Upon completing their reports,
the students presented their
findings to a panel of Tribal Council
Members, Department of Public
Works management, and NWTC
faculty. “Admittedly, the students
were a bit nervous to present their
work.” Brinker added, “however
they pulled it off without a hitch and
as a result generated thoughtful,
collaborative conversations
between community leaders.”
