Welcome to the November issue of the National News.
It is hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by!
NWHA has enjoyed a very successful year across all of our programs – and our
success – is due to each of you. Our 2016 National Show was a huge success – with
1107 entries and 208 horses participating. The level of competition was outstanding,
the camaraderie was heart-warming and the traditions and events throughout the
week were truly memorable.
NWHA has a great deal to be proud of. The NWHA membership reaches broadly
across 27 states. We are well represented across the country. And as a memberdriven organization, we have member-run committees serving and leading our team
across TEN committees. NWHA has paid down 100 percent of our debit in the
last nine months, making us completely debt free! The Trail Rider and Competitive
Horse Incentive Programs both delivered double digit growth. The TRIP program
grew 20% year over year with the CHIP program delivering unprecedented 50%
growth rates. Our newly sanctioned trail rides and challenges are delivering 50%
growth rates, expanding our reach even further. And our dressage program is truly
in a leadership position – with the largest dressage showing in the country – with 82
dressage rides at our National show.
2016 has truly been a great year.
With such a successful year – it is now time to turn our attention to 2017 – and
preparations are in the works for another outstanding year.
