After a rest day in Malahide doing some maintenance we set off on the long haul up
to the fishing town and marina of Ardglass. We had considered the anchorage at
Skerries but the forecast didn’t look favourable for a North facing anchorage so we
kept going. The sea was flat as can be all the way with minimal opportunities for
sailing. We did sail some of the way but it was mostly motor sailing and whale
watching. Tony had told us all about the whales he had seen so we were all keen to
catch sight of them ourselves. On this occasion we were not lucky.
