Day 3 Royal Irish Yacht Club 15 July 74 miles :12 hours 22 minutes The fleet leaving Holyhead at 6 in the morning. The first part of the trip was spent motoring in very light winds which later built gradually. From 12:00 onwards we switched off the engines and sailed across into Dun Laoghaire to be welcomed at the Royal Irish Yacht Club by the Commodore. I was proud that I held a constant course and the tide took me North of the track and then back down again as it turned as demonstrated on the above diagram. Day 4 Dublin by Train Day 4 was spent by travelling to Dublin on the Dart and then a trip round Dublin on the tour bus visiting the sites. One feature of our tour was a free Irish coffee at one of the well known bars. Strong will power was required to drag ourselves out and back to Dun Laoghaire for dinner and drinks on the terrace of the Royal Irish.
