2 - Know your audience.
Probably the most important thing you need to remember, when you're writing your blog posts and uploading photos you have to think about who is going to be looking at them!
When you have chosen or found your target audience you then need to consider your language, if you're speaking to teens or young adults your language won't be as formal as it would be if you had a blog that was reaching out to adults or for a business.
1 - Choose your platform.
Blogger vs Wordpress ;
Blogger is free, and if you have a Google+ account then you will already have access to blogger. The interface is pretty simple to navigate, all the settings are intergrated so anything you change you can see it live before you publish it to your blog.
With Wordpress you have 100% free run over your site, you can edit the HTML, CSS and PHP so anything you can imagine and can create with code you can do and there is access to thousands of plug-ins which are basically apps for your blog to help it run smoother.
The main dorawback with Wordpress if you're new to blogging is that there is a monthly fee to host the site of about £5 - £10 and you have to have a custom domain name from a third party.
3 - Promote Promote Promote!
The second most important aspect of running a blog, you have to put yourself out there. It's not what you know, it's who you know.
The way blogs get about is by word and mouth, people recommending you and telling their friends 'hey look at this cool blog I found' !
Definitley sign up to 2 or more social networking sites, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Google + if you're not using blogger.
