The practice of professional nursing is under the direct authority and accountability of the chief nursing executive ( CNE ), Pat Givens , DHA , EdM , RN , NEA-BC , through direct or matrixed reporting . Nursing services are provided at fifteen Children ’ s Colorado locations as well as additional sites for neonatal nurse practitioners and school nurses .
Children ’ s Colorado at Anschutz Medical Campus has full , comprehensive tertiary services , emergency department , critical care , inpatient , peri-operative , diagnostics and ambulatory care .

School Health Program
Children ’ s Colorado ’ s School Health Program serves in a pivotal role that bridges healthcare and education . Grounded by standards of practice through the National Association of School Nurses ( NASN ) and the American Nurses Association ( ANA ), the services provided by our team of 35 school nurses include leadership , community / public health , care coordination and quality improvement . Our school nurses are highly specialized in the delivery of essential School Nursing and Childcare Health Consultant services aligned with the Colorado Department of Education ( CDE ) and childcare licensing requirements , with 78 % of our team holding specialty professional certification . We currently serve over 370 schools and childcare centers , touching over 82,700 children ’ s lives . Continue reading on page 78 .
Anschutz Medical Campus
• July 2021 – The Gary Pavilion welcomed back the Eating Disorders Program , Partial Hospitalization Program , and Outpatient PMHI program , which were relocated to the Village Pavilion during construction .
• 2021 – Mass vaccination clinics for COVID-19 were hosted at Anschutz Medical Campus and Health Pavilion in partnership with CDPHE .
Southern Colorado
• January 2021 – Announcement that construction efforts will resume at 2375 Telstar Dr . to build outpatient services and a daytime behavioral health program
• December 2021 – Behavioral Health Alert Response Team ( BART ) go-live at Colorado Springs Hospital
North Campus
• September 2021 – The Pediatric Mental Health Institute announced the addition of Partial Hospitalization Program ( PHP ) at Children ’ s Hospital North Campus .
Wheat Ridge
• July – November 2021 – The Outpatient Specialty Clinics at Wheat Ridge reopened to serve patients and families for a period in quarter 3 .
