The move to a fully digital format provides more time and space for the Nursing in Practice news team to dive deeper into the news and clinical agenda for nurses working across primary care .
At nursinginpractice . com and via our app , general practice and community nurses can be assured they will have access to the latest developments , with breaking news and updates from the government , unions and key stakeholders . We will also continue to build our extensive body of clinical and professional content to ensure you stay up to date on the latest research and guidance to help inform your practice and patient care .
Turning the pages of the printed magazine will of course be missed – by the editorial team as well as by many readers – but the shift of focus to digital will not only allow nurses to stay up to date on the go , but will also enable us to push boundaries further with our news , analysis and investigations . The possibilities for online content are endless and , of course , we want your input into our coverage .
We already have a great track record . Last year , we investigated the impact of nurse shortages on the provision of contraception care , and the additional roles reimbursement scheme ( ARRS ) that is shaking up general practice nursing . As you ’ d expect , we ’ ve kept up pressure over the ongoing recruitment and retention challenges within primary , community and social care nursing , as well as sounding the alarm over the poor pay and conditions faced by the profession .
As we continue to push for those conditions to be improved , and to cover the many other areas of interest and concern , we want to hear from you – the nursing profession – about the issues you want more information on , or that you feel we need to expose .
In this , our last printed issue , you ’ ll find an in-depth interview with the Royal College of Nursing ’ s primary care lead and an article by an advanced nurse practitioner about her professional journey . If you have experiences to share with colleagues , please get in touch and help us set the agenda in the year ahead .
