The Nursery Curriculum Strong Start 2 provision
The nursery follows the‘ Pre Birth to Three Guidelines’ for 2 year olds. This covers the four R’ s: Rights of the child Relationships Respect Responsive Care
The nursery focuses on working in partnership with the child’ s family ensuring appropriate transitions from home to nursery. It aims to provide appropriate health and wellbeing, literacy and numeracy activities through a balanced environment. The importance of play on development is encouraged and throughout your child’ s time at nursery all the staff will be observing, assessing and planning the provision based on your child’ s needs.
The Nursery Curriculum 3-5
The nursery follows“ Curriculum for Excellence” as set down by the Scottish Government for 3-5 year olds. The curriculum covers eight broad areas. Three areas are identified as occurring“ across learning” and as such are the responsibility of all teachers. Please see below for a brief explanation of Curriculum for Excellence. More detailed information is provided at the Meet the Teacher events throughout the year.
