To our North Texas Food Bank supporters,
Thank you. The North Texas community has championed NTFB for such a
long time, demonstrating unwavering support for our mission. From the
beginning, NTFB has kept innovation at its core, all while working to feed
the hungry children, families and seniors who live among us. In 2015, in
response to the growing need for food assistance, NTFB launched a 10-
year plan to provide access to 92 million meals annually by 2025.
This plan will entail a variety of changes and ultimately will mean that we
are meeting the need here in North Texas. We believe that hunger starves human potential. To put it simply,
a hungry child cannot learn. They cannot grow to lead a healthy life and develop into the future leaders that
we need them to be.
No one was more passionate about this cause than our beloved leader Jan Pruitt. In January of 2017, we lost
Jan to a courageous battle with cancer, but know that her vision lives on through each of us. We will honor
her life’s work by eradicating hunger in our region. Each day, we will ensure that we bring the right food to
the right place at the right time for our neighbors in need. Along with her staff and the dedicated community
that has rallied behind NTFB’s mission, we know we can make Jan’s dream a reality.
We know what we have to do, and thanks to you, our plan to put more food on the table is coming into
fruition. The growth that we are experiencing as a part of this 10-year plan is all about the people here in
North Texas.
As we work diligently to feed the hungry in our area, we ask that you remember that even one meal makes a
difference. Thank you for joining us as we work our way to 92 million meals. With people like you behind us,
I am certain that we will reach the goal.
With gratitude,
Tom Black
