Adult Programs NSSRA Special Olympics Athletes Featured as Northwestern's Community Group of the Game A dozen NSSRA Special Olympics athletes and a handful of staff had the opportunity to attend a Northwestern Wildcats game back in October as the featured Community Group of the Game! Participants, reveling in their star-level status, had a great time cheering on our much beloved Wildcats! Gator Track & Field Gator Track & Field trains athletes for competitive meets. Athletes will learn the proper skills needed to compete in various running and field events. Note: All athletes must attend practices and conduct a Skills Assessment Test to gain eligibility for Special Olympics competitions. All athletes must have a valid Special Olympics Application for Participation on file to participate. Save the dates! The NISRA Spring Track Meet will be held in April (date TBD), the Special Olympics North Spring Games are Sunday, May 6, and for those who qualify, the Special Olympics Illinois State Summer Games are Friday, June 15 - Sunday, June 17. Goals: Increase physical conditioning. Enhance strength and endurance through running and field sports. Develop a sense of teamwork.
