Youth Programs Youth Horseback Riding Giddy up! Equestrian Connection is a one-of-a-kind stable that provides therapeutic horseback riding opportunities specifically designed for individuals with special needs. Participants learn and practice grooming techniques, ride, have a snack and engage in a horse-related activity each week. A waiver will be sent prior to program; the waiver must be returned to the NSSRA office by Thursday, June 6. Note: As a safety precaution for all, participants over 250 pounds will do ground work with horses instead of riding. Participants with physical and medical conditions, please use caution. No program July 4 and July 18. Goals: Increase flexibility and range of motion while on the horse. Gain self-confidence and a sense of control through stable skills. Develop companionship with the horse and a sense of responsibility. Whether you want to learn how to swim or just improve the skills you already have, Adaptive Swim is for you. This program offers individual swim instruction to work on the participant’s goals in a one-on-one aquatic environment. This program is designed specifically for individuals with physical impairments. This program will end on July 26, two weeks early, due to facility maintenance.
