Gator Softball
Take me out to the ball game! Join NSSRA this spring in competitive softball. Athletes will spend the first part of the
season completing skill assessments and practice followed by weekly games that are hosted both at home and away.
In addition, athletes will have the opportunity to compete in both Special Olympics and ITRS tournaments during
the summer. Tournament and weekly competition schedules will be distributed at the beginning of the season. Note: Practices and games take place
outdoors and are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Game locations and transportation times will vary. Athletes must bring
their own mitt to every practice and game. All athletes must have a current Special Olympics Medical Application for Participation on file.
Save the dates! The ITRS Softball Tournament is Sunday, July 15. The Special Olympics District Softball Tournament is Saturday, August 4, and
for those who qualify, the Special Olympics State Outdoor Sports Fest is Saturday, September 8 - Sunday, September 9.
Goals: Enhance hand-eye coordination and upper extremity gross motor skills through batting, catching and throwing. Foster social interaction with
teammates through practices and games.
