Youth Programs Private Piano Lessons Do you want to learn how to play the piano? This program offers thirty minutes of individual lessons developed by a music therapist on the piano (piano will be on-site). No skills are necessary to sign up for this program; the instruction will be developed based on needs and skill level. Everyone is welcome! Returning participants have priority registration through 5:00 pm on Friday, February 9 for their same time slot from the previous season. All other registrations will be accepted and reviewed after Friday, February 9. You are welcome to state a time preference, however, no slots are guaranteed. You will be notified of your assigned half-hour time slot prior to the start of program. A guardian will need to stay on-site during the lesson. Please note that this program will begin one week late on Tuesday, April 6. Goals: Develop an understanding and appreciation of music. Increase ability to follow instructions. Promote development of fine motor skills required to play an instrument. Each week, we will pair up with our buddy to learn skills and challenge our friends to an exciting game. Each week we will warm up with our team, practice, learn new skills or play a game. Note: Buddy Soccer is not a competitive program. Participants should come dressed in athletic clothing and gym shoes. Goals: Develop introductory soccer skills including dribbling, passing, and scoring, as well as an understanding of the game. Improve social interaction and teamwork. We are looking for volunteers age 10 - 17 ready to share in the fun and excitement that is Buddy Soccer! As a buddy, you will be paired with an athlete with special needs as he or she learns to play soccer. Help us create a program where everyone can have fun and experience soccer in an exciting and successful atmosphere. While there is no fee for buddies, you must register to be a buddy. Buddies will meet Tuesday, March 20, the week before program begins, for orientation. Buddies will learn about the participants and receive program details.
