Youth Programs Private Piano Lessons Do you want to learn how to play the piano? This program offers thirty minutes of individual lessons developed by a music therapist on the piano (piano will be on-site). No skills are necessary to sign up for this program; the instruction will be developed based on needs and skill level. Everyone is welcome! Returning participants have priority registration through 5:00 pm on Friday, July 26 for their same time slot from the previous season. All other registrations will be accepted and reviewed after Friday, July 26. You are welcome to state a time preference, however, no slots are guaranteed. You will be notified of your assigned half-hour time slot prior to the start of program. A guardian will need to stay on-site during the lesson. No program October 8.* * There may be an additional no program date in October. Parents and participants will be notified and refunded in the event of any cancellations. Goals: Develop an understanding and appreciation of music. Increase ability to follow instructions. Promote development of fine motor skills required to play an instrument. Buddy Kickball Get ready to join the team as we head to the gym for a game of kickball! We will pair up with our buddies as we challenge our friends to an exciting game. Each week, we will warm up with our team, practice and play a game. Buddy Kickball is not a competitive program. Participants should come dressed in athletic clothing and gym shoes. Please note that this program will end one week early on November 5. Buddies: We need you! We are looking for volunteers ages 10 - 17 ready to share in the fun and excitement that is Buddy Kickball. As a buddy, you will be paired with an athlete with special needs as he or she learns to play kickball. Help us create a program where everyone can have fun, and experience kickball in an exciting and successful atmosphere. While there is no fee for buddies, you must register to be a buddy. Goals: Improve understanding and basic skills of kickball. Increase social interaction. Improve teamwork. Buddies will meet Tuesday, September 17 at 5:00 pm for orientation.
