found his form and won the PGM Northport ADT
Championship in Kuala Lumpur with a flawless
final round score of 62. Three weeks later, Quek
ended the month on a high, winning the PGA Tour
Series-China (Haikou Classic) shooting 16-under
par. He is the first Singaporean to win a PGA Tour
Series-China event.
Q Quek is also part of the coaching team from The
Golfing Lab. When he is not competing, he spends
his time practicing at NSRCC and coaches on the
side.
Since then, Quek had numerous local victories
but lost a bit of touch outside the country. Last
August, after a nearly 10-year drought, Quek finally “I chose to be part of The Golfing Lab because I
have seen the way they run their junior program
and their holistic approach seems to work well
with developing juniors of all ages. After all, the
juniors are the future. I would like to be able to
give back to the game by helping them develop
not just as fine golfers and as fine individuals to
society,” he said.
uincy Quek, one of the Club’s ex-junior
golfers, has spent 10 years playing as a
professional competing amongst some
of Asia’s finest. Having a lucrative career as an
amateur representing the country, he has been
through numerous battles making his mark on the
tour. His first taste of winning as a professional
internationally came in 2009 when he won the ICTSI
Orchard Golf Championship in the Philippines.
