JUL/AUG 2020
Greetings fellow members!
It has been a long and tough few months for everyone. Since the start of the Circuit Breaker we have
temporarily closed the golf courses, and by now I am sure all of you are eager to get back to the game
and I believe most of you would have taken the opportunity to build up your fitness and finesse at home
during the break to strengthen your game.
The golf courses have reopened and we are sure our golfers will be rushing to enjoy their first game after
a few months’ hiatus, however there are precautionary measures put in place by the Club to ensure all
our golfers’ are safe.
• Both Changi and Kranji courses will be opened to MEMBERS ONLY till further notice.
• Friday walk-in bookings will be temporarily stopped and ALL BOOKINGS will be via internet booking
and telephone calls till further notice.
• To minimize contact with the flagstick, cup implants have been installed to allow picking of ball
without having to remove flagstick. If a ball were to hit this implant and bounce out, you can consider
the ball holed and move on.
• Bunker rakes will be removed from the golf course. Please use your feet or golf club to help smoothen
out the bunkers and your footprints after your shot.
• Golfing staff will be sanitizing all major touch points on buggies after each use including steering
wheel, grab handles, sand bottles, ball washer, etc.
• Practice Putting Green flagsticks have been removed.
• A divider will be installed in between the buggy seat to separate the two users. This physical barrier
will prevent droplet exchange between the two buggy users.
On top of those measures, all golfers are also encouraged to practise the following:
• Keep your own safe distancing during the game
• Adhere to the contact tracing measures by the Club
• Avoid gathering in large groups after the game
• Avoid going to the club if you feel unwell
Till the pandemic is completely over, let us all do our part to ensure that NSRCC remains a safe place for
us and our families to visit.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting me as your Club Captain over
these nine years. How time flies, and it was indeed truly enjoyable to serve this unique Club. Winston Toh
will be our new Club Captain, and the Club has a lovely feature on the both of us on pages 10-11.
I wish all of you happy and safe golfing. Our paths will cross again!
Tan Kah Han
Club Captain
