National Society for Collegiate Scholars
January Newsletter | University of Hawai’i at Mānoa Chapter
Kobs was our special Guest
Speaker. As an honors student
in Kinesiology, active officer
in the senior honor society
Mortar Board as well as a
committee member in the
annual Honors Society Conference, Brent’s speech gave
the new inductees the extra
encouragement to be the student leader that you want to
be. Finally, NSCS’ new faculty
advisor, Dr. Beaule, gave the
Keynote Address, welcoming all of us to hear about her
journey to find her passions
and hobbies in life. Stories
about her love of archeology
and cultures of the Americas
became the words of wisdom
for the day and she stressed
the importance of finding and
doing what you enjoy.
As our speakers ended their
speeches, it was time to officially recognize the new
inductees. One by one, NSCS
scholars were called to the
stage to be awarded the NSCS
pin by Zach Hannah and Dr. Beaule.
Following a group photo on the stage,
they stood in front of their families and
friends as Zach guided them through the
words of the Oath of Membership.
The ceremony quickly came to a close,
but the NSCS lives of the new members
had just begun! If you are a new member,
we welcome you once again! We hope
that you continue to enrich your college
experience with your NSCS membership
and chapter events.
