MERICAN author Daniella
Brodsky, married to MAJGEN
Roger Noble, a former commander
of the 3rd Brigade, will next month
launch the opening book in a
trilogy of psychological thrillers.
Conceived and written in Jezzine
House during their posting to
Townsville, Kiss Kill is set in “a
garrison city in North Queensland”.
It’s a diff erent genre to her usual
romantic comedy so the “What
She Wrote” series has been penned
under the name of Dan Noble, not
really a pseudonym because it is,
more or less, her married name, but
it gives readers the message that
this is a diff erent style of book.
Even better that the book is “probably”
set in Townsville, Daniella is giving
away the electronic editions free,
working on the theory that, once
hooked, readers will be happy to
purchase the other two books.
In Kiss Kill, a child has been
tragically, accidentally killed.
Years previously, her mother Erin
had written a strikingly similar
scenario into her acclaimed novel.
Was Erin somehow responsible?
Years later, Erin’s trying to cope with
the unanswered questions, and thinks
she’s fi nally come to a solution. But is
her thinking sound? And how many
lives will hang in the balance if it isn’t?
Daniella said she explored the process
of creativity, particularly in writing
in the What She Wrote series.
A subject that fascinated her, she
said researching and writing in the
Petherick Reading Room at the National
Library in Canberra (when she fi rst
moved to Australia with husband
Roger) set her on that journey.
Kiss Kill is followed by The
Book Code and The Petherick
Files, in which much of the action
precedes the fi rst two stories.
Daniella said Kiss Kill was free
so readers could get a taste of
her new series “risk-free”.
“There will be a link to buy the second
book at the end of Kiss Kill,” she said.
