NSCA.COM 2014 NSCA ELECTION NOMINATION COMMITTEE JOSE ANTONIO, PHD, CSCS, FISSN, FNSCA EDUCATION • 1996 — Post-Doctoral Fellow Texas Southwestern Medical Center • 1993 — Doctorate of Philosophy in Physiology University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center • 1987 — Master of Science in Exercise Physiology Kent State University • 1984 — Bachelor of Science in Biology American University NSCA INVOLVEMENT • Associate Editor for the Strength and Conditioning Journal (SCJ) (present) • Board of Directors (2005 – 2008) WHY DO YOU WANT TO SERVE ON THE NOMINATION COMMITTEE? I’d like to further enhance the brand cachet of the NSCA, vis-à-vis the world of strength and conditioning. WHAT IS YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE NSCA? I have a cursory understanding, having served on the Board of Directors previously. ONE OF THE ROLES OF THE NOMINATION COMMITTEE IS TO FIND QUALIFIED CANDIDATES FOR BOARD OF DIRECTOR POSITIONS. HOW WOULD YOU GO ABOUT SEEKING OR IDENTIFYING CANDIDATES WHO WOULD BE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE DIVERSE POPULATION OF OUR MEMBERSHIP, AND CONSISTENT WITH THE NSCA MISSION STATEMENT? Having been a member for nearly three decades, I pretty much know everyone in the NSCA. 18 NSCA BULLETIN | ISSUE 36.06
