2014 NSCA ELECTION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS — SPORTS MEDICINE PROFESSIONAL
BEN REUTER, PHD, ATC, CSCS,*D
useful information, supported by research.
The Journal of Strength and Conditioning
Research is one of the few research
journals that provide information that is
based on research conducted on athletes
and active individuals. Making nonmembers aware of benefits such as full text
online journal access, national conferences,
smaller symposiums, and webinars/
podcasts is a key part of expanding the
Membership of the NSCA.
Bringing more diverse professionals into
the NSCA will also help strengthen the
organization. The opportunity to interact
and network with professionals who
work with a wide range of athletes/active
individuals will allow all NSCA Members to
expand their knowledge base.
The main reason the NSCA has become
my primary professional organization is
because it is an organization that gives me
a great deal of value for my membership.
The variety of educational opportunities
provided by the NSCA is extremely
valuable. However the most valuable asset
of NSCA Membership is being able to
interact and develop networks with other
professionals. If I am elected to the Board
of Directors, I hope to be able to continue
to work to help meet the needs of the
diverse membership. I also hope to work to
find new ways to introduce the benefits of
NSCA membership to fitness professionals
who are not members.
