Rep. Greg Rothman (R- Cumberland) - He is a true and long
time friend of PDA. He has been a consistent YES vote for
Assignment of Benefits. He also sits on the House
Appropriations and Insurance committee.
OC TOBER
PDA president Dr. Charles Incalcaterra and immediate past
president Dr. Jim Boyle attended Senate Majority Leader
Jake Corman’s golf outing with PDA lobbyist Peg Kuskin and
House Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) staffer Greg
Moreland. Our dentists had an opportunity to discuss PDA
issues with a number of House members.
Dr. Ron Bushick attended Rep. Stephen Barrar’s district
fundraiser.
House Appropriations chair Stan Saylor is the prime sponsor
of HB 564 and has done great work for us for many years.
Majority Whip Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin).
The Whip is the member of leadership who gathers votes
for their particular caucus.
In order to move your agenda
through the General Assembly and
the regulatory agencies we need to
make contributions to support those
who support us. It is a constant fight
to overcome the power and reach of the insurance
lobby. In order to fight and win for you PADPAC needs
hard dollar contributions. Due to state and federal
laws, PDA categorizes PADPAC funds into two types.
Hard dollars are contributions made via personal
check or credit card. Only hard dollars may be used for
political campaign contributions. Soft dollars are
contributions made with a business check or credit
card. Soft dollars may only be used for administrative
purposes such as assisting district or local dental
societies with a fundraising event.
We need hard dollars in order to build relationships
and make a decisive impact in political races around
the state. Please contribute via your personal check or
credit card. We need to rebuild the PAC from all the
fundraisers we attended to move HB 564 Direct
Payment through the legislature. We also need to
“prime the pump” for the remainder of the 2019-20
legislative session. Please give what you can as every
little bit helps. If you don’t want to make a lump sum
contribution you can make monthly contributions,
which may be easier or more convenient for you.
If you choose the monthly contribution by the end of
the year you will have made a significant contribution
to your PAC.
You too can attend fundraisers and build your
relationship with your senator and representative.
Just ask and we’ll set you up with everything you
need to have fun and be an effective advocate.
Please contribute hard dollars as we need them to
drive your agenda forward. If you don’t contribute it
becomes more likely that the insurance lobby’s voice
will be louder than ours.
