CMMS Tree of Hope and Resilience
Following a discussion on the importance of perseverance, students were challenged to create a community project reflecting these values. A student’ s suggestion to " push through the tough and negative stuff " and another ' s idea for a " tree of hope " quickly took root. Mrs. Anderson, recognizing the project’ s alignment with the school’ s " ALL IN " theme- " You are seen, You are heard, You are loved "- presented the idea to Principal Laura Fragassi, who gave her immediate approval.
The Anderson family donated a flowering cherry tree for the project, and the CMMS property service team, Mr. Sam Hoy and Mr. Harlan Dickey, generously provided their expertise with finding a place for the tree, digging a hole and donating mulch. On September 23rd, a special ceremony was held with Mrs. Anderson’ s Block 1 students, Mrs. Fragassi, Dr. Redmon, and other 6th grade classes looked on as students Ean Engle, Jaxson Reeder, Tucker Owens and Mrs. Anderson planted the tree. A plaque will be placed beneath it, reading, " CMMS Tree of Hope and Resilience, Mrs. Anderson ' s Block 1 2025-2026," as a lasting reminder of the school ' s commitment to hope, resilience, and the message that every student is seen, heard, and loved.
