November is National Adopt- a- Senior- Dog- Month
November is recognized as Adopt a Senior Dog Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the many older dogs in shelters and rescue organizations who are often overlooked in favor of younger pups. Senior dogs- typically considered to be seven years or older- bring a unique kind of companionship. They ' re often already house-trained, calmer, and more experienced in living with humans, making them excellent additions to families or individuals looking for a loyal and loving pet without the challenges that come with raising a puppy.
This month serves as a powerful reminder that age should never be a barrier to adoption. Senior dogs have just as much love to give and often form deep, immediate bonds with their new families. Many are surrendered not due to behavior issues, but because of life changes in their previous homes.
