battle of the borders

India and China are feuding over a border. Apparently this hasn't ben their first encounter. They aren't allowed to use guns within the area, so they chose to arm themselves with whatever they could find in the mountains. Weather it be fence posts or clubs, they charged at each other and continued to fight. Some soldiers tumbled down to their deaths in a river. The feud that's lasted decades is all over a border that wasn't agreed upon.

In 1914, representatives from China, Britain and Tibet (now known as India) gathered to determine where the boarder between China and British India would be based on the status of Tibet. The Chinese refused to sign the deal because they wanted Tibet to remain apart of their control. Still, Britain and Tibet signed a treaty that established the McMahon Line. That's the 550-mile frontier where the legal boarder would be between China and India. China clearly didn't accept it.

China and India would feud again in 1947 shortly after India claimed their independence. The Chinese felt that Tibet was never independent, making them unable to sign a treaty to make an international boarder. Negotiations failed to be peaceful and tensions continued to rise. Their feud continued on and off from the 50's until today.

The reason tension continues to rise even now is because of their accusations towards each other. They're both saying the other is guilty of boarder violations. They're both pointing fingers at the other for attempting to seize territory over the Himalayan boarder. Both sides attempted to talk their way to a conclusion since May, but tensions never ceased and the clashes continued.
