CHARCOAL MAKING & DRAWING
Using a campfire , metal , and combustion , learn how to make and illustrate with one of the oldest drawing materials known to man - charcoal ! This is a foundation class for those with little to no drawing experience , though all levels are welcomed . Taught by English / Spanish Bilingual Instructor . Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult . Adults and children must register separately .

Join us for a drink with historian Jeffrey Anderson of the Robert McCormick House at Cantigny Parks as we explore Joseph Medill -Abolitionist . Medill was a social radical who helped form and name the Republican Party in 1854 . He used his position as owner and editor of the Chicago Tribune to support Abraham Lincoln politically and to eventually bring an end to slavery . As mayor of Chicago after the Great Fire , Medill led Chicago ' s reconstruction as he continued to champion social reform .
