the First Connecticut Lake in Pittsburg. He loved the outdoors and the beauty it offered. He loved to cook and his home was the place to go for every holiday. He was a wonderful story teller and loved sharing jokes. He had a kind, loving, warm and generous heart and was selfless in always making sure the needs of others were met before he ever considered his own. He is predeceased by his father and mother.
He leaves his wife, Laura Monica, his best friend and soul partner for the past 35 years; his beautiful daughters, Brittany Verville, of Newburyport, Mass. and Caitlin Verville, of Portsmouth, whom he adored more than life itself, his step-mother, Marnie Verville Sheehy, cousin Penny Verville and Martha Foster whom he loved as sisters, his dearest friends Steve Burtt and Don Peters who he considered brothers, his mother-in-law Frances Monica, sister-in-law Linda Monica and her husband Richard Horan, brother-in-law William Monica and his wife Kathy, brother-in-law Paul Monica and his wife Betty and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and scores of friends.
Calling hours were on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at 10 a. m. at the Immacu-

EVELYN E. HARRIS
PITTSBURG – Evelyn E. Harris, 86, of Pittsburg, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, with her family by her side.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1929, in New Boston, a daughter to the late George M. and Edna E.( Clouche) Noyes. Evelyn was raised in New Boston and worked there for many years

prior to moving to the north country in 1969.
She was a very strong, but giving and generous woman and a loyal friend. Evelyn enjoyed knitting and making afghans for friends and family, and she loved to cook. Her family will remember fondly the Sunday morning“ slippery eggs.” She was clever and took many projects under her wing, including renovating her home and doing all her own finish work.
Evelyn leaves behind her six children, Richard Leonard of Mont Vernon, Sandra Bagley( Ken) of Bradenton, Fla., Ernest‘ Tom’ Harris( June) of Brookline, Lynn Bissonnette( Claude) of Pittsburg, Todd Harris( Andrea) of Guelth, Ont., and Tim Harris( Linda) of Canaan, Vt.; two sisters, Elsie Mae Strong of New Boston and Georgia McCoy of Milford; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by a sister, Barbara Clough, and a granddaughter, Ajana Leonard Dunstan.
There are no public calling hours. The family will hold a graveside service in the Lake Cemetery on Rt. 3, First Conn. Lake, in Pittsburg, on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 1 p. m., presided over by her grandson, Salvation Army Chaplain Ethan Frizzell.

He also was a well-known truck driver, and worked for Lewis Oil Co. and the Beecher Falls Division of Ethan Allen. In his spare time, Dean was an avid snowmobiler and he enjoyed making maple sugar products in the spring. He also enjoyed time at the family camp on Big Diamond Pond.
Dean is survived by two brothers, Alan Hughes and wife Cathie of Charlotte, Vt., and Robert Hughes and wife Lucille of Harvard, Mass.; four step-sons, Berkley Edwards and wife Stella of Colebrook, Bruce Edwards and wife June of Jaffrey, Robert Edwards, and Albert Edwards and companion Sue Hunt of Greensboro, N. C.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his former wife, Myrtle( Corliss) Hughes in 2011, and a brother, Ronald J. Hughes, earlier in 2016.
Calling hours were on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, from 5 to 8 p. m. at the Jenkins and Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A graveside service with Marine Corps honors will be the next morning on Veterans’ Day – the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month – in the Colebrook Village Cemetery.

Huntington, Conn., but Robert was always an avid and enthusiastic outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish, and he enjoyed always having a boat in the water, both salt and fresh water. During vacation times, Robert had always enjoyed coming north to hunt and fish in the Umbagog area. Upon retiring in 1977, his family moved north permanently, and he started his second career as the owner and operator of the Brown Owl Camps, and he became a licensed fishing guide and sporting goods store owner. Robert and his wife were known far and wide for their camp hospitality. He was a master fly-tyer, and is credited with inventing the“ Brown Owl fly,” known nationwide now and credited with catching several trophy fish. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and loved to groom the trails for the Umbagog Sports Assn., of which he was also a member. He was a compassionate caregiver to his wife and his son, Ronald, for many years.
Robert leaves behind four sons, Allan Broad of Wentworth Location, Ralph Broad of Errol, Louis Broad and wife Susan of Londonderry, and David Broad of Manchester; and four grandchildren. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Dolores( Mitchell) Broad, two sons, Robert M. Broad, and Ronald J. Broad, and a sister, Florence Imre.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, from 5 to 7 p. m. at the Jenkins and Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A funeral service will be held the next morning, Fri., Nov. 18, at 11 a. m. at the Errol Congregational Church in Errol. Burial will immediately follow in the Wilson’ s Mills Cemetery.
