dean's message

As we move into the end of the Fall term, time seems to race by faster each week. Whether you find time at Thanksgiving or after the term is over, think about how the college is evolving to best prepare students to meet today's challenges. We are in the midst of a search to identify the leader who will guide that evolution. I am hopeful that a new dean may be appointed as soon as January. Yet whether we see a new dean in January or a few months later, we will continue to find opportunities to celebrate our new college and its potential.

Speaking of which, I enjoyed meeting many of you at this month's homecoming showcase (see p. 8). As we transform into a complete college, we anticipate many more opportunities to bring the school and community together. Around the corner is ITPalooza (see p. 9) where you are all invited to participate or volunteer. Students, remember that your complete university experience includes more than just course work. Co-curricular opportunities abound. As you engage in these opportunities, let us know! See all our contact information on page 11.

I wish each member of the CEC community a fulfilling and restful holiday season. Thank you for reading our second edition of this new digital newsletter. We had great feedback on the first edition. Please continue to share your news and let us know what you think!

Go Sharks!

Amon Seagull, Ph.D.
