Velasquez ’ s legal journey began at Florida State University , where she triple-majored in Political Science , International Affairs and Marketing , with a concentration in Professional Sales . She then excelled at St . Thomas University , earning the highest grade in Interviewing , Counseling and Negotiations , making the Dean ’ s List , and becoming a member of the Stephen R . Booher American Inn of Court . The daughter of immigrants , Velasquez prides herself on building positive working relationships with clients and fellow attorneys , and she believes civility should be at the forefront of the legal profession .

Ms . Bernstein was one of 12 board members sworn in as the organization ’ s founding leaders , in addition to the seven officers of the executive board . The Jewish Lawyers Association of Palm Beach County was founded to bring together and represent the interests of Jewish attorneys and allies to foster a legal community dedicated to upholding the principles of inclusion , justice , integrity , and morality . The organization will seek to promote and educate about Jewish cultural heritage , protect members ’ common interests , strengthen the community , and stand up to antisemitism and intolerance . She focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning , wills and trusts , guardianships , special needs trusts , veteran benefits , and asset planning and protection for Medicaid to assist in obtaining benefits for home care , assisted living , or skilled nursing facilities .

In 2016 , David started his own boutique firm with a partner , representing community associations and other clients with issues pertaining to corporate and business , general commercial , and insurance matters . Allison Kapner handles a variety of family law matters including marriage dissolutions , custody disputes , paternity actions , post-dissolution modifications and enforcements , child support , pre- and post-nuptial agreements , and child dependency cases .
