BE THE CHANGE

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

We’ re excited to share progress on our 76,000-square-foot expansion, which will add 50 ventilator-ready beds to our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center, Kentucky’ s only pediatric skilled nursing facility.
This project has been a long time in the making and is finally coming to fruition with the help of dedicated community partners and individuals like you. Your support ensures children and young adults with medical complexities can continue their journeys here at the Home, while creating space for more families to entrust their children into our care.
Since our expansion groundbreaking event on January 13, much work has occurred in the Home’ s backyard. Thanks to the team at Messer Construction Co., the foundation for this expansion has been laid, and new structural elements are being added each day.
The basement of the new building can be seen here.

Be the Change for Children and Families
As part of this massive effort, the Messer team has set up temporary offices at our construction site and are becoming continually enmeshed with the work happening at the Home each day.
For instance, to celebrate Women in Construction Week during early March, the ladies of Messer hosted a“ Paint and Sip” event for our residents, who were treated to delicious snacks as they painted canvas bags and panels.
