Making Memories in Complex Care

Making Memories in Complex Care

You might be surprised to learn that residents in our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center( KCC) have very busy social lives. Between attending local events, celebrating peer birthdays, and hosting special guest visitors, there’ s no shortage of fun in the KCC! Here are just a few of the exciting things that happened this summer.
Guests from the Louisville Ballet brought their Adaptive Dance Program to our campus for a quick dance lesson. Residents enjoyed watching professional dancers perform choreography and were able to try some of the moves themselves with one-on-one coaching from the ballet team. This provided residents with a unique opportunity to stretch, enjoy music, and express themselves.
Our summer carnival, held in the Home’ s gym, featured a variety of fun activities, including face-painting, a petting zoo, games, music, and food. This event brought together residents, their families, and team members for a day of laughter and joy. A great time was had by all in attendance!
Thanks to help from Liberty Mutual volunteers, our raised garden beds received a much needed upgrade. These garden beds, specially designed for wheelchair access, allow residents in the KCC to practice hands-on learning with sensory stimulation that’ s vital to their growth. The brightly colored flowers, fragrant herbs, and texture-rich soil create a learning environment like no other.
