METHOD THREE : INCREASED CAPACITY : MAXIMIZING PARTNERSHIPS TO AID IN RE- ENTRY AND RISK REDUCTION
One of the most effective ways to prevent recidivism is to provide high-quality treatment programs addressing supervisee ’ s needs in key areas : cognitive behavior , education , mental health , and substance abuse . Supervisees and the communities they seek to rejoin , encounter challenges throughout the rehabilitation process-- this was even more factual during a global pandemic . Throughout 2020 , DCS remained steadfast in efforts to connect those under supervision and their communities with resources that will help them succeed . As the pandemic continued to wreak havoc on communities across the globe and specifically here in Georgia , those under supervision by DCS did not experience any gaps in treatment and housing services .
