1. Eat a nourishing
breakfast
I’m embarrassed to say that skipping
breakfast was something that I used to do
quite often (pre-dietitian of course). I really
didn’t like breakfast options – cereal and
toast – and like many people, I got into the
habit of not eating. My stomach got used to
the routine of morning tea being the first
time I would eat. Since studying dietetics I
have not skipped breakfast. At first
introducing it was difficult as I never really
felt like eating early in the morning, but
now I can’t go without. With the wide
range of breakfast foods available now, it’s
also easier. I love the varieties of untoasted
mueslis, with complex mixtures of oats,
seeds and nuts. I add a touch of low fat
