Share the Dignity
$10,000
I believe that Share the Dignity is worthy of this Initiative, because
Share the Dignity is about giving dignity back to women who,
through no fault of their own, cannot afford basic necessities. For
most women homelessness is not a choice. Share the Dignity was
founded in 2015 by Rochelle Courtney, a Sandgate local, who
was heart-broken by an article about these women in need. She
decided to take action. And now Share the Dignity is Australia
wide, not only helping homeless women, but all women in need,
including our Aussie Farmers.
Nominated by Rebecca Parry.
Royal Flying Doctors
$10,000
The RFDS not only has a 24 hour emergency service, but last
year they provided consults to 290,000 patients (1 person every 2
minutes!) Consults include; GP, Aboriginal and TS Islander health,
mental health, womens health, oral health etc..
Last year alone the RFDS fleet flew 26,847,325 klms OR 34 trips
to the moon and back OR 600 flights around Earth! But why do
I personally believe they would be worthy; apart from the above
mentioned, because if the RFDS didn’t exist, anyone living or
traveling outside of a Metropolitan area is at high risk due to not
having access to Emergency Medical Assistance and Specialists
of the highest standard that are found in our Major Capital City
Hospitals.
Nominated by Leanne Sedgman and Gail Woods.
Youngcare
$3,000
Youngcare’s mission is to help young people exit or avoid admission
to aged care. Their aim is to develop viable and replicable models

people who have no alternative, giving them back their dignity,
choice and the chance to have their own brighter future by
funding equipment, care accommodation, and a helpline for young
Australians with high care needs. “At Home Grants’ are between
$2000 - $10,000 just for one client.
