Orange Sky Laundry
Eden Ministry
$3,500+
plus $2000 RRP worth of UPP and Odour Eliminator.
Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the
world today. Eden Ministry extends love to people in sexual
slavery. They reach entire red-light districts and those trafficked
for sexual exploitation through innovation prevention, outreach,
and advocacy strategies – transforming entire communities. This charity provides mobile laundry services for homeless people,
with 2 washing machines and 2 dryers in the back off each van.
As well as providing this basic need for cleanliness, the vans carry
6 orange chairs, so in the one hour’s time it takes to wash and dry
someone’s clothes, Orange Sky volunteers get to chat to these
people. They are also trialling mobile showers which is a fantastic
initiative. $3,120 funds 1 stop a week x 10 loads of washing = 520
conversations a year.
